Hall of Fame Café® honors residents for public service, notable military service, professional accomplishments, contributions to the community and professional achievements.
The ladies of CRNC are currently sewing pillow cases and blankets. Enjoy these photos of their beautiful creations!
Bible Boot Camp was the theme of this years Vacation Bible School at Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. VBS took place July 25th-29th. The residents and children worked together on numerous projects such as assembling a stuffed teddy bear/keepsake and creating craft baskets for the residents. Also in attendance were Mickey and Minnie Mouse, The Cat in the Hat, a Freeport Bulldog and Eddie Eagle.
The two generations attended activities together to include dancing, singing, Bible stories, educational topics such as water safety, gun safety, and how to protect themselves in a natural disaster. The residents really enjoyed having the kids in their home as you can see by the photos.
We hope to bring VBS and other programs like this into the facility in the future as a way inspire the children to develop a love for the elderly as well as to bring joy and laughter to our residents.
CRNC employee Brandy Woolley was awarded a shopping trip to Thriftway Supermarket where she was allowed to take home everything she could acquire in 3 minutes of shopping. Brandy’s total came to just over $1200.oo!
In an effort to promote safe work practices, CRNC awarded this shopping trip to one employee whose name was randomly selected as a reward for the facility going 90 consecutive days without any accidents on the job. Congratulations Brandy!
Every day is a learning experience at Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center (CRNC), but this week, employees got an extra dose of education.
On Tuesday, June 14, CRNC held its second annual Learning Congress. The purpose of the Learning Congress is to teach employees new skills and reinforce old ones.
Instructors for the day focused on topics pertinent to the quality-improvement process at the facility, such as customer service, culture change initiatives and free educational opportunities available to all Signature Healthcare employees. Other topics included identifying and responding to safety hazards, as well as information on how the state determines a facility’s quality measures, and how that information is reflected in annual surveys.
The Learning Congress is one way Signature Healthcare fulfills its mission to educate and empower its employees – also referred to as “stakeholders” – by providing annual learning opportunities that are convenient , relevant to their job and contribute to overall quality of care for the residents.
